2002年，阿根廷发生经济危机期间，77岁的兽医Arturo在布宜诺斯艾利斯被绑架。绑匪给他30岁的孙女Guillermina打电话索要赎金。为了救出祖父，她向住在法国的母亲Teresa求助。自从Teresa的反独裁人权斗士丈夫去世之后，1978年后移居法国。现在她回到阿根廷，发现过去发生的一些悲剧事件今天出现了反响。
