一个电影摄制组打算拍一部关于纽约夜店的片子，而要想顺利进入夜店，抓拍点独家的东西，特雷弗就是他们最好的导游。特雷弗可以说是最知名最厉害的纽约夜店看门人之一，他眼神锐利，判断准确，三教九流都能伺候周到。可是随后特雷弗不幸失去了工作，却阴差阳错未告知摄制组这一消息。于是现在特雷弗只好硬着头皮，假装自己还有着从前呼风唤雨的能力，带领摄制组进行了一场尴尬之旅。
